  3. Alarm rings at 05:30, up and about and on Poole Quay for 6:50. Watched a Commercial potter loading bait to dump for another vessel that had broken down. After 2 mins decided to move up wind, that stuff stinks. All aboard (10 in total) and off we went. Very cold but the tea was flowing and the cabin warm. Got to our first wreck after about 1
  4. All that exiting stuff!!!
  5. Rick Steins last programme showed the fish in the markets and some were tiny. It appears that they keep all they catch and there is a market for these small fish. When you consider that the Dover lifeboat was called out to rescue a trawler which had snagged it's nets. The trawler was registered in Zeebruger. Is it me or are we being taken for mugs??????
  6. Got a Charter trip Sat out od Poole so will post results after Cheers
  7. Got a 580 and like it - it is a nice boat and goes through the water well. It is hard to launch though and a big boat to trailer (but not impossible) so we leave it on a swinging mooring. Deck space is limited but it accommodates 3 fising no problem. The 'white' can be a bit hard to keep clean! Personally, I would look at a 580 over a 500 as the 500's seem to 'bob' about more. I'm pleased with the boat and would recommend it to anyone as both a good angling boat and a family boat. I am out of the country until end March but would be willing to take you out on it when I get back. In the meantime, you can contact me by email if you want anymore info though. My address is dave.pettis@morrison-southgeorgia.com

  10. I'm no expert but have checked the wreck locations with those in the book "Dorset Shipwrecks" by Steve Shovlar, a keen diver who has visited many of the wrecks. The locations are either spot on or the last digit is out plus or minus 1 so close I think. Hope that helps Neil

  14. Hi, Few questions..... Do you need a Rod License if you fish the lower tidal reaches of the Frome? I'm tend to look for flounder up there? Which club owns the rights ?, say before and after the Wareham bridge? Can you take a lillty boat past the wareham bridge and up? Do you know if you can catch pike/other coarse fish in the tidal reaches? Appreciate your help.....

And according to the local Tohatsu dealer you have to screw this nut tight, and then losen it one turn !. It worked !!. Thank you all. Onslow
  22. Had a superb day near Portland on Silver Spray. After a quiet morning and a tiny whiting on an 8/0 hook we managed the following: Loads of whiting to just under 3lb Small spotted ray 10 - 12lb conger (returned) Estimated 18lb blonde ray to the 14 year old stood next to me (returned) Doggies Weather was great and fishing steady. 25. I have bought myself a new Warrior 165 with 70hp Suzuki 4-stroke (nice boat). The motor runs perfect - nice and smooth - but i got some vibrations around 2500 rpm. The dealer says it will stop after the motor is run in - but after almost 30hrs it is still there - a little less - but not gone. Anyone here with a similar problem ? Onslow
