Well we headed West .... the wind & water was rougher than we had expected and the tide was much stronger than we had been hoping for too but we did manage our desired species.
A 14 1/2LB Tope was the best we could do but it was still a Tope
Other commitments mean thats it for me for a fortnight new .... I hope I dont miss too much nice weather.
Personally I rarely have any joy on Poole patch (although there are always lots of boats fishing out there).
I have had bream there, but (for me) its mainly doggies!
I am looking to continue my lucky streak and get out Sunday. I was hoping to try somewhere far out but the weather window seems to be moving back more every time I look. So maybe I will just try one of the banks for some rays or out a little further in the look for some larger tope?
Is anyone else out?
Thanks Tom,
It was partly to help with my trip planning in the hope that maybe I can "go with the flow" rather than always be battling the flow of the tide.
Many thanks.
I am sure I should know this but to assist with my setting up ready for drifting and with my trip planning, when the tide is on the ebb does it run from East to West or the other direction??
Thanks.
Rotten luck Charlie ..... and having experienced yours & Sams skippering first hand this just goes to show it can happen to the best of us.
Well done to all concerned for a safe outcome.
Congratulations to you all.
