  3. Lunker! Well done Dave!
  4. Well it all works!! We headed out and could turn left, could turn right! Bonus as the first test was navigating the bar(s) at Christchurch! Lovely day but no bars of silver. Or livebaits were made no so live by what I thought was cuttlefish. However, Alun managed to get one close enough to his boat to see they were squid. Cracking (of ice one slip) day on the water, stunning!
  5. You kept that quiet!!!! [emoji1] On a serious note, it sounds interesting and could appeal to a few. I have been amazed how many boats have been captivated by Dave's Annual Species Hunt. It really focused some energy and effort within the club. Good luck with the practice, would freshwater match fishing be at all relevant, for the times that boats / weather don't fall in to line? That's all about presentation, organisation and changing methods until finding what works!!! Best of luck and tight lines. Rob
  6. Damn phone, and yes, too many pies this year. Will be a lean jan!

    Cheap 10" Tablet

If I didn't have 2 plotters, 2 map cards and 2 GPS receivers (I like a backup) I might have - assuming getting a tough waterproof case like an OtterBox would be possible.
  17. Comp on a Saturday! [emoji33]
  18. Maybe it depends on what's normal? What does the book say? Sure it wasn't ticking over too low before the change?
  19. Don't put yourself down like that Al! I'm sure that's why Deb loves you (besides the cooking!).
  20. Enjoy!
  21. You'd be eligible for an upgrade / update (which is a new card). Give them a call as Jim says.

  24. Thanks all! It was good to be home early so u could open presents with the kids, then we went to Bournemouth for dinner. Not sure I've caught mackerel in December before, first time for everything!
  25. So, early start, set off at sunrise. Planned to anchor and fish maccy heads from the summer to try and catch a bar of silver. Well, who would have thought I would have found 1/2 a dozen mackerel whilst feathering at anchor. So I up sticks and went on the drift. It was lovely, no Ned for gloves but still chilly. Had one of about 4 to 5 lb, then lost a biggy, braid caught round rod tip!!!! Then a smaller 45cm bass. Great day! Home boat trucked away by half 2. R
