The7000 I mentioned earlier does have a level wind but shore or boat I have never found it to be a problem as we are not tournement casting.
I thought you were after a combination
although I still use the 7000,s my preferred option are my Avet SX or MX
LH lever drags a little limited but Avets fit the bill.
mine arenot good casting reels but they do come with brakes for that purpose
The one I use most for both of those is one of my ABU 7000,s
has brake blocks so can cast even big weights uptide
very capable medium size downtider too. at anchor or drifting
as an all rounder has a proved pedigree
Hi Neil
Ian and Alan are joining me weather permitting.
We would have room for another, but I am keeping an eye on the forecast to see if we can do what I intended to do.
If you can let me have your number I will call you after I check the weather and talk to Ian this evening.
Not sure if I fancy another Ray trip, but some fishing is better than no fishing.
Hi all
Looking at the neap tides and forecast for Sat I am tempted to push out a few miles and have a look at getting some Tope and Eels, with maybe a try at the bigger bream that stay late on the wrecks.
No crew at the moment so if anyone fancy's it get in touch
Thanks Neal
Well done Jan, Stuie and Dave some good rays
I sent some pictures of ours undulates to Billy, he confirms non of ours have been identified before, from the 450 he now has on his system.
Neal any chance of a full list of results please
Results from Alfresco
Charlie 1 small eyed 6lb and 5 undulates the best two both weighed 12lb 8 oz
Ian 1 Small Eyed 3lb and 1 Undulate 11lb 7oz
Alan 3 Undulates largest 9lb 7 oz
A dozen of the target species but no monsters
Thanks for your company guys and for Lunch Ian , we must do it again.
Thanks Rob
So for Clarity
it is 1st 2nd and 3rd over the three comps for the best specimen.
Out of the three rounds, the best competition score is to count for the species scores. Not the points from each round added up
Hi Rob
Is there a list of scores so far somewhere ?
If so can you direct me to it please.
As Jayden could only fish this last comp, it would be good to see how others are doing as it may help us decide what to try and do next weekend.
Well done looks like a good job achieved with minimum fuss.
I am sure that they will work well on a fully loaded trip.
A lot of the Motor Boats in the Marina at work fit anodes to the tabs and antifoul them [the tabs not the anodes] otherwise it is amazing how quickly they foul up.
Will have to keep an eye on the weather, Either very early Sat or its Sunday for me.
Neither of the boys are available, so unless Wendy fancies it I may need some crew.
If anyone fancies it please get in touch.
Good luck with that Fred
I believe that you have fitted the boat out very well for your Cornish Mako hunt.
taking it very seriously this time mate, going for three months.
I hope that those Blue Fins are not too much of a pesky by catch, with the price of hooks and line you had better wind them all the way to the boat so that you can save the hooks by catch and release.
