  1. Nice one PeteG That reminds me of a trip to the seawork show with big Dave last summer while his boat was on the Breaksea Boats stand. As we walked around the show he said that he had no need to look at any toys for Reel Magic as they were all fitted, then we came across the machine gun and he changed his mind.
  2. Great report Steve Try it in the summer and you would get more exciting sport we have had good bream rays conger and huss around there and tope to 40lb
  3. I forgot to say, we usually get a sponsor for the cost of the bow numbers, but they are not that expensive if that is not possible to arrange.
  4. Sadly with good prizes on offer, there is a need to worry about cheating. My advice would be to decide well in advance what the rules are, publish them in advance and make sure all competitors get a copy on registration. This also includes the consequences of breaking the rules, and who is responsible for govering these rules and other things like species identification. My thoughts would be that anyone caught breaking rules is disqualified. At the yacht club with boats that all look the same we sometimes issue stick on large bow numbers, these have to be attached prior to the comp starting and stay on the boats until after the prizegiving. In this case it may also be worth taking photos of the kayak and crew in case of identification disputes. Good luck with the comp, if you need more assistance we may be a available to assist
  5. Thanks Brian Interesting thread

  8. Welcome back Alan Good luck in the search for a new fishing boat.
  9. Oh how I miss getting paid to go fishing lol. Me too Budgie I can not see my present employer letting me have a week off to go fishing in Scotland or North Wales like the Navy did for inter services boat matches.
  10. Well done to all Members listed, there are some very good specimens on that list, every month except Feb it took a very good pencentage fish well over 100% to win. Any chance of a list showing the best fish per species from 2014? I am sure that it should be something that can be extracted from the catch reports. Charlie
  11. Well done all I hear that the lunch menu on Reel Magic was excellent on the cod marks yesterday, LOL
  12. Well done guys Wish I had been able to get afloat, starting to go stir crazy now. Need to get afloat very soon.
  13. I too am curious about fishing to world rules, please let us know a little more There are a lot in the Club that like me have fished serious competitions in the past and some that still do, so I expect that you will get some interest. Having seen the turnouts for Club comps drop off over the years, even though rules and times are aimed at making fishing easy and fun. I personally doubt that adopting strict rules and true match tactics would appeal to many. Good luck with helping George out Mike I would like to take you both out one day, to see the differance first hand. Not sure I will be wearing a blindfold all day though. LOL
  14. I see that the experts struck again, using the normal tactics Well done Dave great fish mate And well done jacob, great fish for runner up
