  1. Great write up Mal. Good to see that there are fish about, we had a quieter time. But still enjoyable
  2. Sounds great for a bird watcher like you Mal.
  3. Nice one Rob well done.
  4. We had a very long Day Towed a full spread of lures up and down the waves, all the way from Durlston to the west end of the shambles, then an alternative route back to the spoils. Nil fish to report Although a pack of Dolphins breaking surface did get us excited for a bit.
  5. Alfresco will be out with Dave and Mick crewing
  6. Happy birthday lofty Hope the weather and fishing are both good.
  7. We discussed this a bit at the August Club meeting. This is some of the information that was passed to me, when I was lucky enough to be one of the 91 successful applicants for a licence/permit. I am so pleased that they have now made the information available. Including the code of practice. If anyone is interested in this fishery, I would suggest having a good look at that. I have printed it all out and have hard copies onboard. Its a big commitment in time and effort for all concerned. A lot of people deserve credit for getting it this far, very well done to all of them. Lets hope for a good season, with lots more people getting to try this out and a very small mortality rate. That way it will expand in the future. Charlie
  8. Hope the commercial gets dealt with harshly. But I doubt it
  9. I will try to do these in order Fish on Hang on Dave An idea of the tackle being used, to look after the fish's welfare and keep the fight short. Colour, Wow a thresher!! It buggers off again Great fish , well done mate Well deserved reward Nice fish.
  10. I suppose that someone, better be me mate. Especially now you have exhausted your typing finger.🤣 I will get them up ASAP Well done on persisting with this project and catching such a great fish. Sorry I was not onboard watching all the fun. In case anyone is wondering, I sent the details of the fish and some pictures to a very keen and experienced Shark angler that I met on my recent BFT training course. He estimated the weight at 200-225lb and Dave has taken the lower one. The fish was well looked after and swam off strong and fast. I cannot ever remember one being recorded on a Members boat so it should be a Club record. Many years ago it was agreed to take measurement for sharks not weights, for the sake of fish and anglers alike. Well done Dave, Mark and Mick.
  11. Sorry to see that you are selling up Brian. Those boats have a well earned excellent reputation. She is in excellent order and very well kitted out. I am sure that someone will snap her up. Charlie
  12. I had not realised that the comp was off until chatting to friends at the BBQ. We had bait on order and a great forecast so decided to fish anyway. Pressure was off so we intended to have a look at a few usual spots. Started well with a few nice plaice close to the beach Plus some tiny bream and smoothies. Moving out to the patch. Landed bream, ballen wrasse and even a small undulate on the light gear. Another move to another spot found some better bream and another wrasse species. Lovely day enjoying the fishing and warm 🌞 Shame that the comp was off. But at least that stopped us having to chase small congers and dogfish. Lol
  13. Will talk to Wendy to see if she fancies a go on Sunday, Put Alfresco down anyway date to follow.
  14. Belated Happy Birthday Mick. Hope you had a great day mate
  15. Great piece of wood Jim, That's a fantastic piece of work mate. Good reward for all of that effort, you need to make a little board up to say who made it. Charlie

  22. Braye High Water times, this weekend. Fri 17/5 15.58 Sat 18/5 16.57 Sun 19/5 05.03 / 17.43 Mon 20/5 05.57 / 18.22
  23. Hi all Still checking the weather as usual as we head up to an Alderney weekend. Fingers are crossed that it stays as currently forecast or improves. I have spoken to Mainbrayce chandlers this week and they confirm that Diesel is available to us at the fisherman's rate. Problem may be that the Braye Harbour tides are not at great times and the chandlers only open at restricted times [10-12] at weekends. Braye High Water Fri If weather is good for a 4 day trip, they will be open at 0800 Monday, when there is tide to get in the inner Harbour. or they will come in on Friday at 1700, by prior arrangement. I will try to call everyone this afternoon to see what we all want to do,
  24. Happy Skipper with a nice Bass
