Just because ot was run with no result, I personaly see no reason not to try again If some of us that fished last weekend can not make the new date, does that matter? Better to try and get a winner than just accept that there isnt one IMHO But this is a club so we should discuss and air our views so that the committee can make an informed decision So keep up the comments and help Neal out guys

For what it's worth re running the comp on another date would get my vote. There was some discussion on moving the flounder comp to allow us to fish steves comp, perhaps that is a good date

Hi mate I know that you both bought the boat with the intension to do her up to the standard of JV1, Not sure that you were expecting some of the things you have found so far, or the ejecter seat. Some of these pictures shows what not to do. But it's all fixable buddy. Huge respect to Percy for getting her in to your garden, told you he was a good un. We all know the boat will be a cracker, when he picks her up in the spring Then look out fishes Charlie

I find it hard to believe that there are knives out there that do not loose there edge at all, but then again I do not pay £40.00 or more for mine. [i was presented with the last two as club prizes] I carry several and usually swap over when one looses its edge, sharpening with a steel works for a while, but sooner or later they have to be sharpened properly on a stone as I like them to be sharp.

Hi George Well done again, perhaps we can all make use of the lessons that you will no doubt learn this week from your time with the rest of the England team and during the competition from the other teams too. By picking your brains at a future meeting I am sure that some of us can improve our skills in loads of areas. Its all right us old farts passing on what we have mostly taught ourselves, but you may well learn things this week that we are not aware of. Having fished on boats before with top match anglers, they have skills that are hard to match. Consistent results can not be put down to luck
