Well done mate, a couple of beauties. U should of entered the comp, a bit of friendly compitition would of done you the world of good . I'm not sure if they will let the fish be recorded as they wernt weighed. The fish recorder wouldn't accept my cod brace in December as the weights were only guess weights as i never had scales on board.

Nice one mate. Tim Doswel, a Keyhaven skipper had a 65lb Tope on his charter boat yesterday off st catherines! There are plenty of fish around now Dan

Launched out of Mudeford bright and early with my Dad and my Son as my crew! The plan was to meet the old man at about 9am, but with Lewis pulling me out of bed at 5.30am i thought the early start was the better option! Next stop, drive to my dad attemp to drag him from the flea pit! Launched and out with plenty of water over the bar, mirror seas, and the best fishy conditions i have seen in ages........ 1st stop, maccy!!! Caught 2!!! 2nd stop..........none 3rd....4th....5th.......2 hours searching and we gave 8 maccy to go with Steam over to a mark, numbers bang on......drop the pick and wait.........still waiting.......Looking bleak on the flood with only occasional LSD action! On the ebb, and some action! A Tope at last, then a lost Tope kept spirits high! Lewis then landed a mother of all mackrel on baited feathers intended for bream! Should of weighed it, but it was soon chopped up for bait! A couple of LSD follow, with a few bream mixed in. Lewis lands a good bream, before he lands a string of maccy to fill up my empty bait bucket! Fresh bait on the bream rod, bang!!! The rod lunges over.....smallish bait, but with the power of it, im thinking small tope of decent bass! Anyway, the the fish surfaces and the old man scoops up 1st time! Easily to get accurate reading of the scales as the condition is so flat! Needle reads...............................................5lb 2oz..........Happy Bunny or what!!! Joint club record? Anyway, a few more bream and LSD and its the 4 mile steam back to the harbour! Dan Lewis' Maccy

Paul, Confirm Dom on Dat Dam Boat (sat only). He has sent his cheque off today for membership! (im not out so don't add me)

Mike, you should have a punt! You have smooth hound, big conger, bullhuss, undulate ray, mullet, bream, cuckoo wrass, bass, etc. I think you hav a very good chance of a 100% fish at close range!. If a turb or brill from alderney or shambles dosn't win then my guess would be a bully or cuckoo wrass from an inshore or possible a big bream may get the nod as it did last year! Im working, but good luck to everyone getting out!

Bruv, i think its a fiver per head and after reading reading the beginning of the thread it looks like you may be able to do an IOU. You know where the big 100%+ eels are hiding, good luck

lucky for yuo, finding one of these is like looking for rocking horse $hit. Listen to lads advise, load up with braid. 30lb will cut the tide nicely, and the lack of strecth will give you great bite detection. Rods, you get great stuff at a decent price from fladen, but i find their reels lacking in balls. Loock at a TLD or something from Abu and you wont go far wrong. I think the others have contributed in leaders etc Good luck Dan p.s, speak to Coddy and see what you can get his conolon for. There great rods

I think if we introduce a new species, then we should have a qualifying weight of at least specimen size. Gazza just landed a 15lb + starry a couple of weeks ago (pic in the gallery somewhere). So if the club open up the record for a starry, then get carols entered before him Good fishing anyway mate, and get back out there soon as there are plenty around
-
Come on Steve, join the club aswel.......haha, you walked straight in to that onel..... Just leg pulling mate, couldn't resist it!
-
happy birthday chap... only 12 more long months before you can buy your own beer!.......at his size though, he was probably getting served at 11
-
Paul, thats was a good bream for that area, we couldn't get them over a pound. I also landed a doggie that coughed up a chewed up 8oz bream which proves how greedy they are, and how many small bream are around now! Dom also landed a huge cuttle which attached itself to his maccy fillet!
-
Welcome to the Forum- brilliant mate- thats what is all about! You seemed to bag up! If you try dropping a worm bait near the groyne you will also get loads of Wrass, and if you drift past the groyne about 100 yards off twitching feathers you will also get some small pollock! It seems like you were to busy catching anyway, but something to bear in mind for the future incase the bream and doggies arnt playing ball. Download a form, join the club and then you will get more advice and help from other club members than you can shake a stick at Dan
