Sorry chaps, ive been down to the beach and its a bit lumpy 4 me. Gnasher is only a tiddler so i wanna enjoy my 1st night session rather than being beaten about. A proper fresh breeze on the coast.
-
i wactch it kam, not to watch them reel in the big wahoo, just to look at the totti on display
-
could you use a small balloon slideing on the line? maybe small water bomb type? cheap as chips........ok, either its a good idea, or im gonna get the pi$$ ripped outa me...lol....i recon i know what the response will be, haha Dan
-
mike, them big carp are hard quarry.....its not all about chucking a bait on a tame fish that cant get away
-
crew for me next wk pj if u like. il let u know when im out
-
oh dear, now a nice experience. i drifted hurst, landed one maccy, had one bite and missed it. (lanched at 6pm) I did hear on the vhf of a monster bass being landed last nte on a tiny speed boat. No more details though.
-
i hadnt even read the post. An 11lb bass is a monster mate, well done. I think its an even bigger achievement than other may give you credit for as it was caught on a very small boat (440?) and you cant reach some of the grounds that others may head for. Even put back to fight another day. Top angling matey. Dan

nope it ok, ive found it. Thanks mate

wheres that pm then dude?

Hi Adam, ive sent you a PM. I already posted on another thred that ive got crew on my boat(non club member though) so im sorry but i will have to give it a miss. I will get you on the vhf anyhow and see how many more than me you lot have caught. Im sure someone is looking for a trip though. Sorry dude

thanks pj. I have a birthday then so no go..Thanks for offer though. np James, 5 times in a week, i can see why your points are used. Im going to chance it thursday, stuff the rays, il try for a bass. Even taking a non club member now. First ever bass session, i will let you all know how i blank, how much gear i lose and how many livebaits i cant catch. For a small boat, is drifting the ledge best bet? 1oz drilled bullet, 6ft trace 4/0 hook. sound about right to start?
-
James? PJ? Paul D? or anyone else thats going out for a bass trip. any of you out looking for crew???? If not, i can still take someone out on Gnasher for a bit of ray bashing.
-
all pretty much in place, now for the daft question....its all ready to go, but where is the pump mounted? Is id dangled over the side? Surley not i would of thought...If it is, what happend when you motor to a different spot? Do you bring the pump out? is your pump partially or fully submerged? Also, why clockwise water flow? Is that very important?
-
Rich, ur a diamond mate. I will have a carbon copy of your tank ready to go in a day or two. Bass here we come.......Or get your ass my way thursday and lets go for a silver. Ive all the bits already, hose, tank, elbows, etc....just waiting for the pump to be delivered. Many thanks mate and good luck with the op on your hand....u will be out of action for a while...(fishing action!!)

I fancy a go after work on thursday from xchurch. If I take out Gnasher i will need crew and it will be a go across to Xray for ray&tope, but if anyone else is going out on a bass session i would prefer to crew for someone else as i havnt done much inshore bass fishing and i really wanna try for a silver. If anyone wants me to tag along thursday for a bass or two, let me know, or if anyone anyone wants to crew on the tiddler with me as a 2nd option then let me know. Split fuel costs either way. Dan

dunno Kam, its cant be the real deal though as it was a decent size. The pic dont really show its length, but its a big net, and the fish was about 22 inches long and reel fat. i think the record golden grey is about 2lb 8oz...and this was more than double that. Could be a cross breed, but i no idea if we get golden grey around here.
-
well done fella's, good reading aswel and quite funny to. Some good fish. Well done rich for getting placed in the lure comp aswel....top marks
-
ok, there getting bigger. 5lb 9oz from Lymo harbour. 2lb line and tiny hook and a tiny bit of crust. Long way off PB, but its decent sport. I also thought i had a huge golden grey when i saw the gold on its gill cover, enlarge pic and have a look. Ive caught loads of mullet over the years, lots with gold in them, but this had more on the gill cover than ive had before....ok, i know its not a golden grey, but i did look twice..... mullet

On behalf of Dommy aka chunderboy...........(no idea why he hasnt posted yesterdays catch report) He went out, with a non club member and had a blinding day....He had, thornies to 12lb12, lots of pack tope to mid doubles, bream to 2lb 8oz. All taken on Gnasher north side of xray in 69ft. Rays and tope to live maccys.
-
well done ricardo.....nice fish...get it in the book......i hope we dont get to see your ugly mug in the mags again though
-
i will show you how its done next week rich Its not normal to fish that light, but they are spooky when you are picking out and casting to individual fish. Ive never had a mullet brake me up, even when fishing small holes between moored boats with ropes everywhere. U mentioned that your a novice at float fishing..no float, no shot, just a tiny hook mate....But if you fish that light, then a quality rod is needed that will absorb the lunges, but it has to be a very very soft through actioned rod. a bass/carp or barble rod is far to heavy for light lines.

Sorry, im working...I wouldnt of got any points anyway, haha...
