  1. That's not anything to do with lifting shirts is it
  2. I'd be up for that Paul
  3. A man asked his wife what she'd like for her birthday. "I'd love to be eight again." she replied. On the morning of her birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Coco Pops, and then took her off to the local theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, every thing there was. Five hours later she staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. Right away, they journeyed to a McDonald's where her loving husband ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a refreshing chocolate shake. Then it was off to the movies: the latest Star Wars epic, a hot dog, popcorn, all the Coke she could drink, and her favourite lolly and M&M's. What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his precious wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, Well, Dear, what was it like being eight again?" Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. "I meant my dress size, you tw*t". The moral of the story: Even when a man is listening, he's gonna get it wrong.

    What Flys

I need help from some of you fly fisherman (or ladies) I am putting together a few bits and pieces for the odd lake fly fishing trip in the summer. I have a rod now plus a cheap reel and wieght forward line. The problem I have now is how do I choose maybe a dozen or so different flys that will cover the majority of options on your average trout lake. I realise it is probably the $64,000 question and won't cover every eventuality but would appreciate a few tips. Regards Gordon
  5. Yep, great day. Enjoyed catching the live bait and didn't mind all those brownies getting in the way. That's a pint for you next meeting mate. cheers

    Lonely Widow

A lonely widow, aged 70, decided that is was time to get married again. She put an ad in the local newspaper that read: HUSBAND WANTED: MUST BE IN MY AGE GROUP (70's), MUST NOT BEAT ME, MUST NOT RUN AROUND ON ME, AND MUST STILL BE GOOD IN BED! ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE APPLY IN PERSON. On the second day she heard the doorbell. Much to her dismay, she opened the door to see a grey-haired gentleman sitting in a wheel chair. He had no arms or legs. You're not really asking me to consider you, are you?" the widow said. Just look at you . you have no legs!" The old gentleman smiled, "Therefore, I cannot run around on you!" "You don't have any arms either!" she snorted. Again, the old man smiled, "Therefore, I can never beat you!" She raised an eyebrow and asked intently, "Are you still good in bed??" The old man leaned back, beamed a big smile and said, "I rang the door bell, didn't I?" The wedding is scheduled for Saturday...

    Dislexic

2 dislexics walking along the road, one said "can you smell gas", the other one replyed " Smell gas, I can't even smell my own name"!
  11. Spolling wasn't my favourite subject either
  12. Yes, a good day out, thanks Adam. Although it looked like it was going to be one of those days as rig after rig was left down on the wreck. When we got a conger the damaged knots and line and 2lb of lead robbed us on the way up. Anyway last wreck of the day went great, and as the tide slackened the better ones showed up with a couple of 30s coming up. Really nice to have a day busy hauling good fish if you have had a couple of slow trips
  13. It would certainly not seem right, and I would be back to Suzuki. If it is vibrating on a brand new outfit, I would demand it be corrected. I am sure if you are "firm" with them, let them know you are not going to be fobbed off, then they will make some reasonable effort to sort it. Good luck
  14. Thank you all. I don't feel 29.
  15. Anyone going out Monday that needs crew?
  16. Thanks for the day out Alan. Got a bit cold towards the evening but a good day whiting fishing. Learn't a few tips. Thanks again Gordon
  17. Congrats PJ
  18. I believe Paul D is out with Mark. Sharing the secrets of the Paul D precision anchoring technique
  19. That's a better topic title in case anyone thought I wanted crew
  20. Anyone need crew for the Cod comp on Thursday. When I crew the captain always spawns a Cod Any area any time etc
  21. you need to have me on the boat to spawn another cod
  22. When you look at the modern engines, most are now much of a muchness in economy and purchase price (comparing DI with 4s). After that its maintenance and fuel. Regular maintenance is cheaper on a 2 stroke and if and when something serious went wrong there is no doubt that the 2s would be cheaper. With dirct injection even all the carb weaknesses are gone. Economy on the DIs is comparable if not slightly better so I guess its about tick over noise as when moving most of the noice is behind in the wind. You have to say that those etecs do look cool Choices choices
  23. I believe there are a few seahog models about, many are the cathedral hull styles and not to comfy in a chop. I think this newer model is the only one similar to the 165
  24. I am looking to move Cushdy on and get a more bespoke fishing boat. ie cuddy, rear facing seats etc This model looks like a Warrior 165. I am certain that one of our members has one and I am interested in is there 3 to 4 grand difference in what you get. Whats the ride like, how the features differ etc
  25. Can anyone help. A mate is coming up from Cornwall this weekend for a week or so and we thought we might have a go at a beach trip. But not really done any around here I don't have much of a clue to ensure (as much as thats possible!) that we might catch a few bits. Has anyone got a spot / technique that they could PM me to help. I certainly won't be over fishing it! Any help or advice greatfully recieved REgards Gordon
