Happy Birthday Dave have a great evening

Hi Dave Best ask Chris if they can at least remove the part about certified scales We carry three sets but none have been certified.

My lads said that to me once So I took them and the inflatable donut out and sat them on top of Great Whites wake at 10 knots, a small alteration of course had the donut on the side of the wave and them hanging on for grim death. Never to damn slow after that

Needs a bit more effort by the AT to get it right. Not a great thing to produce a form like that if it is not correct. A bit like their specimen sizes, it needs some work and an update

Thanks Neal Chrissie is showing us up now Not sure January is right, I think there was another good fish that moved Chrissie to 3rd and I was demoted to 4th

Terrific sea trial today We set off early to head 15 miles offshore As soon as I set the way point into my garmin plotter and pushed engage for the pilot off we went. The unit has a shadowdrive which means all that is neaded to take control is to move the wheel. The hydraulic flow in the system overides the pilot untill movements stops. Made it easy to avoid the pot buoys at Old Harry. Re engage saw us take a direct line to the mark. These units learn as they go so in fairly calm conditions it learned quickly and the track was good. 7nhours later when we set back the sea state had picked up. Initialy the track weaved, but within a couple of miles it was straighter than any of manage to keep the boat in such weather. Think that I am going to enjoy the benifits of fitting this new toy. Although it did seem strange to be sat in the helm seat just keepin a good lookout ahead and chatting to the crew.

Thanks guys Looking forward to more relaxing cruising to and from marks or destinations This Garmin one is very smart, simple to use and came with the compass unit that was simple to set up yesterday All linked by plugs and nmea2000. Only wiring I had to conect was the positive and negative to the circuit breaker and busbar. Plus two wires for the shadow drive and two for the audible buzzer. 4 inch screen doesnt take up much room either.

Oh dear I can understand the wish to stay with a brand that you already have. Its a quiet time of year and you are planning to keep the boat for ages, so there is time.

Had that once with a couple of Lowrance units chosen to fit in my last boat Bought these after seeing them at a London show, but had to wait months for the first to arrive in UK. How long will you have to wait Mal. Is there an option to fit a differant size pump?

Just sea trialed my new Garmin GHC20 auto pilot with Platinum Marine Very pleased with it today, we are going fishing sunday to give it a proper test. Fitted by myself was not too hard, even if access was a bit tight and matching hydraulics between garmin and volvo was a bit of a pain. Plenty of advice and a good price from Platinum at the London boat show. Together with a good sea trial this afternoon. Ryan just took over driving the boat and did it all. Very pleased Cannot wait for Sunday

Impressive and why we continually try to get our safety crews to back the ribs out of their berths and into the open water. in reverse the boat just follows the engine like a windsock. Nice one would not like to try it with a boat that catches the wind as much as mine.

Thanks Paul

Just crunching some numbers regarding specimen sizes By a long way Undulate rays were the species with the most reports in 2016.

Thanks Dave I may start a thread to see what others think. I hope that it takes a little more than one persons opinion to get them changed

Well done Steve and Diane Great to see you out there enjoying the fun and games You looked busy on the boat a few times and it looks like Diane did a great job with the net and the camera Have to agree about the specimen sizes, its about time the AT looked into a review like the NFSA did every few years. I do not want to go off topic , so may start another thread.

Great report and pictures Nigel As we approached we did not see you at all until we were a couple of houndred yards away. Happy to be polite and let you guys settle the boat on her anchor, before we put ours down. looks like you had it spot on with plenty of net waving and no need to reposition we had a busy day too but some of our quiet times were a bit longer. Lol
