  4. I don't post much here but keep on lurking - noted that Davey and Davey have a 22ft double hulled, twin diesel "Fishing and Diving" boat up for auction on Saturday (8th March). See http://www.daveyanddavey.com/8th%20March%2...20image%202.jpg for a pic and the Davey and Davey website catalogue for more details. Might be an opportunity for someone here - I have no "interest", financial or otherwise, in the boat - just making you aware (though a trip out when you've got it sorted would be welcome !). Richard

  10. Thankyou for that Craig. If we both manage to get to a meeting eventually it would be good to talk, and I really appreciate your offer of a trial. I still haven't decided what would be best yet - so all input is still gratefully received. Look forward to meeting you all soon ???? Chris
  11. hi paul, i had to fit my own pedestols on my last 165 and warrior told me just silaflex and screw straight to the floor as the ply under the fibreglass is plenty to hold them.
  12. sorry mate moved
  13. Thanks for all your efforts - Daughter will have to buy a new one !!
  14. Saw Glasgow Angling advertising these on special offer @
  15. Hi Don't suppose you still have the Scenic towbar ?? Thanks
  16. Spent a great day at the boat show - thankyou for your advice - I look forward to meeting you all at the February meeting.
  17. Thanks for that Coddy - like the website! - off to the Boat Show on Wednesday, but won't get much impartial advice there !!!!
  18. I haven't yet managed to get to one of your meetings and join the club, but I wondered if the members would give me the benefit of their experiences. I am looking at buying a much newer boat. I rather like the look of the Quicksilver Pilothouse - small cabin, large cockpit, walkaround deck and wheelhouse (for those cold winter days), but still has a bit of speed in case the grandchildren want a ringo!! I would be really grateful for any views on these boats (good or bad), especially if anyone has the diesel. I am trying to work out economy-v-price-v-speed but there is very little info on various engines fuel economy on the internet. OR if anyone can suggest an alternative ???? Thankyou.
  19. Thanks Mike More to this than I first thought! I will try & get down in a few weeks. Thanks for your kind offer of help. Andrew.
  20. Thanks chaps, I feel a bit more informed now. Charlie - I have already had a kind offer to sort me out a range of leads from one of the members, Thanks. Regards, Andrew.
  21. Hi Adam Thanks for your advice. You have confirmed what I was thinking really. How do you like your 175? I know it is only 1 ft longer, but I believe it is a totally different animal altogether? I was initially thinking of taking the plunge & going straight for a 175 & would be interested in your opinion given the fact that you have had both a 165 & 175. Realistically, I would be fishing on my own or prefferably to buddy up with any members who wanted to crew & help out with cost of fuel, bait etc. I intend to offer to crew/contribute to costs & come down in a few weeks (It's my son's B'day, my B'day & the FPO's B'day over the next 3 weeks - Maybe she can buy me a boat for my B'day!!) Cheers for your help, Andrew
  22. I've seen 3 Warrior 165's with 75HP Etec's for sale recently (I believe between 1 & 3 years old) priced
  23. Thanks Guys, I'm thinking two 12-20lb 8' (ish) rods matched to Abu 7500's loaded with 30lb Braid & two 20-40lb downtide rods with Shimano TLD 20's & 30lb (or 50lb??) Braid?? - Would the TLD 20's be too big?? If so, what should I be going for? Dave - How do you rig for float fishing for Bass - Any drawings on the forum?? - The ones on Portland rigs were very helpful. Cheers, Andrew T
  24. Hi Guys, Just looking at what tackle I will need for when I get sorted with my own boat. I currently have: 3 Uptide Rods 2 20-40lb 5'9" stand up Star rods 2 Abu 6500CT reels 2 Abu 7500 CT reels 2 Shimano TLD 20 reels 150 to 175g breakaway uptide leads various hooks etc I've read various posts on rods & reels, but would be grateful for a definitive "bare bones" list of what I would need to cover myself - I know tackle is a personal preference subject & if anything I err on the side of better quality gear (Tackle tart!!) Any advice gratefully received! Kind Regards, Andrew T
  25. Hello mate. Have you got a chart plotter & fish finder? They are invaluble to find features to fish. We've been franticly finding spots since the boat went in. If we spot anything whilst motoring on the ff we just punch the 'mark' button on the plotter for a better look later. We've found a huge lot of info on the plotter!
